Halloween (a
contraction of All Hollows’ Evening) is
a celebration observed in several countries on October 31st.
It is the evening before the three days in the year dedicated to remembering
the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs,
and all the faithful departed. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing
costumes, attending Halloween costume parties, decorating, carving pumpkins into Jack-o’-lanterns, telling scary
stories and watching horror films.
